Trolltech’s Greenphone - OpenSource Linux Phone
Trolltech has released their “Greenphone” which runs on open-source Linux. This phone includes developer tools to increase the phone’s capabilities, along with VMWare software.
With developer tools and smartphone applications built-in, writing software for this phone gets to the point where almost everything is under user controlled. Users can download others’ applications and put them on their phone. It also equipped with a touch screen and a 1100mA battery.
The phone is great but comes with a much deserved price of about $700. It may become more widely spread if the price comes down.
