Seagate did its homework when designing the new line of external drives. The FreeAgent series – now shipping in capacity ranging from 80GB to 750GB – is aesthetically pleasing from its streamlined aluminum casing and orange-glowing strip. The “Go” of the FreeAgent utilizes 2.5″ notebook HDDs offer 80GB to 120GB, and lets you carry over a hundred titles without installing them on the host computer.
This is possible by Ceedo, which keeps registry as well as your private info. including bookmarks, cookies, settings and files on the FreeAgent, hence leaving no trace of your last session behind. The private-branded Ceedo also is strengthened by 256-bit AES encryption. The FreeAgent Desktop (250GB to 550GB) is touted no bigger than a stapler, and is primarily targeted at people who are too lazy to backup. It includes Memo’s AutoBackup for scheduled automated backup to multiple locations and a 6-month subscription to a 500MB online backup service.
