Panasonic upgrades it’s video cameras to HD

Panasonic knows people love HD, especially when viewed on their line of HDTVs, so they’ve decided to upgrade their old HDC-SD1 and DX1 video cameras to the high def resolution of 1920×1080 to deliver 1080i, without any tricks.

The cameras have been reborn as the HDC-SD3 and the HDC-DX3, these cameras record onto SD cards and DVDs rather than a hard drive. If you’re curious about recording lengths, the DX3, the fancier of the two, can fit 90 minutes of high def video onto a 4GB SD card, which isn’t bad at all.

Because Panasonic is Japan based, the upgraded video cameras will be released there later this month. There is no set date when/if they’ll be released here.
