HTC announced HTC Touch for the United Kingdom which features a technology called TouchFLO that allows you to operate the smart phone just by swiping your finger on the device’s 2.8-inch, 65,536-color touch screen to launch an animated, three-dimensional interface comprising three screens: Contacts, Media and Applications.
HTC Touch has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, and is saddled with the same sluggish EDGE data connection when you’re out of hotspot range. Leveraging the broad functionality of Windows Mobile 6 Professional, the HTC Touch includes Outlook Mobile, Office Mobile, Windows Live and the capabilities to run thousands of third-party applications. Users can surf the web with Internet Explorer, send and receive emails, chat on Messenger and send files to their own web space through Windows Live.
The 3.9-ounce HTC Touch, a triband GSM phone, is rated for up to five hours of talk time. A 1GB microSD Card is included for loading the phone with content. Although pricing and carrier availability are still up in the air, HTC plans to launch the Touch in two color schemes (Soft Black and Wasabi Green) during the second half of 2007.
