Logitech Introduces Carl Zeiss Webcams

Logitech and Carl Zeiss  today announced an exclusive collaboration to deliver the Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 and the Logitech  QuickCam Pro for Notebooks , both come with  HD-quality 2-megapixel range. The Carl Zeiss lens and optics comes with a silent autofocus system which supports 720p HD video at 960 x 720.

“Image quality is only as good as the lens that captures the image,” said Dr. Scherle, general manager of the Carl Zeiss Camera Lens division. “Since 1846, when Carl Zeiss set up his workshop, our company has been driving the science of optics. Today, we design optics ranging from eyeglass lenses to space optics. Working with Logitech gives us the opportunity to reach markets and applications that nobody would ever have imagined twenty years ago.”

They are expected to be available in the U.S. and Europe in July for a suggested retail price of $99.99
