Logitech announces QuickCam Pro 9000 and QuickCam Pro for Notebooks

Logitech’s latest products - the Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 and the Logitech QuickCam Pro for Notebooks - feature high quality lens from Carl Zeiss in the hopes of establishing a new standard for webcam image quality. Carl Zeiss Tessar lens are renown for their incredible sharpness while also being lightweight and compact.

The new Logitech QuickCams also offer a premium autofocus system capable of refocusing images in less than 3 seconds flat at distances as close as 10 cm from the lens.

Other features of these new webcams include:

• Video capture at up to 30 frames per seconds
• Support for 720p resolutions (960 x 720)
• True two megapixel sensor with support for up to 8 megapixels via software interpolation
• Support for RightSound and RightLight 2 Technology to enhance the video calling experience

The Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 comes with a flexible universal base which allows it to comfortably rest on nearly any monitor out there.

The QuickCam Pro for Notebooks is designed for people on the go and comes with a portable protective travel case. The webcam features an adjustable spring-tension clip that’s able to accommodate even large laptops with panels up to 20 mm thick. Finally, it even comes with a stand you can use on a desktop raising the webcam to eye level.

Both webcams will be available in the US and Europe at the beginning of July with a suggested retail price of $99.99.
