ASUS Plans U6S Ultraportable release
Asustek is planning to release ASUS U6S, a 12.1-inch ultraportable notebook that armed with Intel “Santa Rosa” mobile platform, a dedicated video card ,a 3.5G HSDPA support and runs on Windows Vista Home Premium.
It sports a full-voltage Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 at 2.2GHz, NVIDIA GeForce 8400M G graphics with 128MB of dedicated video memory, a 12.1” 1280-by-800 pixel LED backlight display, up to 2Gb Ram, a 250GB hard drive, DVD burner, a Gigabit Ethernet, a 56k modem, Bluetooth, WIFI a/b/g/n as well as HSDPA module.
The Asus U6S also includes HDMI, VGA and SPDIF outputs, four USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, and a 8-in-1 card reader. Its 0.3 megapixel web camera has a sort of face recognition functionality. For enhanced security, there are a fingerprint reader and the Trusted Platform Module (TPM). The notebook weighs around 3.86 pounds with a six-cell battery giving up to five hours of usage. The ASUS U6S is expected to release in European market next month, with a price tag of 1,999 Euros (approximately $ 2,834).
