Sony introduces Skype Headset and Remote Control for PSP

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ) introduces a PSP Headset with Remote Control, designed to be used with the PSP’s Skype functionality, which was enabled late in January with the firmware update version 3.90.
Both the remote control and headset come in black only and are compatible with the current PSP-2000 version of the portable gaming system. The headset also doubles as an interface with the PSP’s Talkman and P-Kara software titles.
The Skype Headset and remote control will be released in Japan on June 19 for 3,800 yen ($36). No information was revealed for the North American market. According to Sony, the PSP firmware must be upgraded to version 3.93 in order to use the devices to make VoIP calles using Skype on the PSP.
