There has been rumours about planned to roll dual-core Atom processors sooner or later, and the Fudzilla website has now turned up a few more details. According to Fudzilla, the first dual-core processor Atom 330 will clock in at the same 1.6GHz as the current single-core Atom 230.
The 1.6GHz Atom 330 processor should represent twice the theoretical performance with each physical core adding Hyperthreading support, effectively supporting as many as four distinct program threads under ideal circumstances. The Level 2 cache is also doubled to 1MB and boast a TDP rating of just 8W. There is no word in pricing yet, however, it should be on track for a release sometime in the 3rd Quater of this year.
