Nike has upgraded its Nike+ running gear with a new SportBand and an extra feature for iPhone users. The tracking device for calories, distance and speed has a new background to be more easily readable on the run and is weather sealed to prevent it getting wet. It can work as a stand-alone device or as a supplement to an iPhone or iPod that saves having to look at Apple’s players to check run information.
Nike also revealed that it will be launching an iPhone- and iPod touch-specific version of its Nike+ website to let owners of either device find their long-term data, such as their run history, without having to turn to a computer and use the Flash-heavy regular page. No timetable has been given for when the site will be ready. The new SportBand is available in three two-tone color schemes and should be available on Wednesday for $59.

Nice move by Nike. The product looks cool and price tag is not so high.
