Lenovo has announced its new ThinkPad S431, a premium laptop PC featuring an elegant floating design and touchscreen display. The ThinkPad S431 is powered by Intel 3rd generation Core processors, making it 15 percent faster than its predecessor with up to nine hours of battery life. With up to 8 GB of memory and 500 GB of storage, users don’t have to sacrifice responsiveness for performance. The S431 can store up to 150,000 MP3s or 250 full-length feature films. The laptop features two USB 3.0 ports for fast data transfer.

For an additional $81 for Acer C7 Chromebook, customers will get around two extra hours of battery life. Along with the larger 6-cell battery, the RAM has been upped from 2GB to 4GB. This puts the Chromebook into the price range of cheaper Windows laptops and the iPad mini. It also makes the purchase less of an impulse purchase and one that actually requires a bit of thought.

Asus VivoBook S500 and S550 are two new 15-inch Windows 8 touchscreen notebooks. The new VivoBook adopt a relatively thin .85-inch profile, but still weigh 4.6-pounds each.
