Asus Xonar D2 sound card

Asus has announced their first ever sound card that promises to transform almost any PC into a high-quality digital home media center. The Xonar D2 is a 7.1-channel audio card based on the AV200 audio chip with built-in sound-enhancing technologies from Dolby and DTS. It features a signal- to-noise ratio (SNR) of 118 db for both audio in and out. It also packs some new tech that offers “outstanding” game audio quality. The card comes with a special application called “Portable Media Processor” that works with the onboard ALT (Analog Loopback Transformation) circuit to provide almost lossless analog recording audio quality from digital music files.

Creative previews X-Fi sound card for notebooks

 

Creative demonstrated its first-ever sound card designed for modern notebooks during CeBIT. So far titled only the X-Fi Notebook, the adapter will plug into the ExpressCard 54 slot of newer portables and uses the faster standard to provide sound closer to the kind found with internal sound cards on desktops.

Asus enters the sound card business with premium sound cards aimed at gamers. The new Asus sound card Xonar D2X feature 3D sound processing and support Dolby Digital Live, DTS and 5.1 surround sound. The Xonar D2X records and reproduces sound in HD (192 KHz/ 24 bit).
