Acer debuts upgraded C7 Chromebook


For an additional $81 for Acer C7 Chromebook, customers will get around two extra hours of battery life. Along with the larger 6-cell battery, the RAM has been upped from 2GB to 4GB. This puts the Chromebook into the price range of cheaper Windows laptops and the iPad mini. It also makes the purchase less of an impulse purchase and one that actually requires a bit of thought.

ASUS revives 9-inch netbooks with Eee PC 900AX



After virtually dropping screen sizes below 10 inches for over a year, ASUS has officially launched the 8.9-inch Eee PC 900AX. The system is aimed clearly at the entry level and uses the older 1.6GHz Atom N270 as well as Windows XP; at the same time, it makes use of some lessons learned since ASUS’ last netbook this size. It uses a newer edge-to-edge keyboard and appears to be a slight overall design tune up of its ancestor.

MSI Unveils CX705MX notebook with Radeon HD 545V video




MSI has unveiled a notebook PC, the 17.3-inch CX705MX. It ships with a 512MB example of ATI’s brand-new Radeon HD 545V graphics chipset, which should give the otherwise budget-focused notebook enough power to watch HD videos on its 1600×900 resolution screen. For sound playback, there are two 2W speakers along with a subwoofer.
