BenQ launches slim Multimedia Fun LED TVs

BenQ announced the release of 21.5” ML2241 and 23.6” ML2441 LED TVs. These two BenQ slim models are suited best for students wanting an LED TV that can be used as a monitor as well, or young professionals who wish to have a second television in the comfort of their own room. They are the very first small-sized LED TV in Europe, with less than 39mm thickness and the thinnest part at 19mm, they are absolute space savers, and a piece of artwork on its own. Compared to CCFL TVs, BenQ’s ML2241 and ML2441 can provide up to 40% more power saving. They consume less than 0.5 watts on standby mode, compared to the usual 1 or 2 watts from other makers. The new BrenQ ML2241 and ML2441 feature Senseye, 5 ms response time and Full HD 1920×1080, engineered to handle and output a pure 1080p 24Hz signal for natural and superb quality images, giving users a cinematic viewing pleasure without distortion.

LG Display has unveiled the world’s thinnest LCD TV panel measuring 2.6mm. The 42-inch panel weighs less than 4 kilograms — making it ideal for wall mounted TVs. Moreover, the new product offers 120Hz refresh rate technology with full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution for clear and sharp image.

Bang & Olufsen Updates its BeoVision 7 LCD TV

Bang & Olufsen has upated its BeoVision 7 HDTV lineup in the form of a 55-inch model. It becomes the largest BeoVision 7 offered, readily beating out the 40-inch set available in North America. Most notably, Bang & Olufsen has doubled the panel’s refresh speed to 120Hz but has also added motion compensation. There is also a new LED backlight with progressive scanning and local dimming that improves the contrast ratio.

LG to launch 15-inch OLED TV

LG will be launching its 15-inch OLED TV in 2009 by launching it later this week in Korea. The set will be largest OLED commercially available, and cost the equivalent of about $2,500. At the same time, LG will invest into production facilities for the creation of these organic LED display panels.

Toshiba has unveiled the future of home entertainment, the CELL REGZA 55X1. This new World’s First1 LCD TV Integrating the Cell Broadband Engine , the flagship of Toshiba’s REGZA line-up, offers viewers state-of-the-art picture quality, including a dynamic contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1, and supports this with ultra-high-speed processing and recording, enhanced navigation and seamless network interactivity. Another distinguishing feature of CELL REGZA is its storage capacity: a 3-terabyte (TB)7 hard disk drive. Two terabytes of capacity are dedicated to the CELL REGZA’s “time-shift machine,”8 which can simultaneously record up to approximately 26 hours of programming for up to eight channels of digital terrestrial broadcasts. The time-shift machine allows viewers to catch up on missed programs simply by pressing the “time-shift machine” button on the remote control.
