Panasonic continues their line of plasma TVs and went live with their 2007 plasma lineup in Japan. They announced their latest to the addition, the TH-42PZ700. It is a 1920 x 1080 resolution panel Plasma wonder. They missed the boat in the 58 inch segment which is a hit in the US but they have a bold idea of taking a 42 incher into another level. It will be the world’s smallest 1080p plasma TV when it reaches the market. Shipping will begin on 27th April for about $ 3,600 with side mounted speakers or $ 168 less for a normal single under panel speaker.

Panasonic introduced the new high-end PZ700 Series of 1080p resolution VIERA plasma TVs including 42-inch TH-42PZ700SK and TH-42PZ700 and the 50-inch TH50PZ700SK and TH-50PZ700 models. With a moving-picture resolution of over 900 lines, the 1080p VIERA TVs deliver not only outstanding still images, but also display high-speed moving images like Olympic Games and Formula One car racing clearly and sharply. The four models feature a newly-developed anti-glare panel that reduces screen glare and reflective light that could occur in a bright environment. Panasonic has packed as many as 2.07 million (1,920 x 1,080) pixels into the 42-inch panel by developing thinner ribs and new fluorescent materials. The thin ribs improve the aperture ratio of each tiny pixel cell.

Panasonic has announced pricing and availability for it’s 2007 Plasma HDTV lineup. The lineup includes 1080p models in new 50 and 58-inch sizes, as well as a surprise with a 42-inch 1080p model which will be priced around $2500 and released in June. The 42-inch TH-42PZ700U has a 1920×1080p resolution, Built-in NTSC/ATSC/QAM tuners, 3 HDMI inputs and a slew of new additions.

Panasonic will introduce its first 1080p 50-inch Viera plasma TV into the UK this Summer. The TH-50PZ700B (pictured) features a new black-gloss design and a host of picture improvement technologies, foremost of which is V-Real Pro II, said to deliver better blacks and subtler graduations.
