PlayTV PS3 Tuner set for September 10th

Sony announced the final release date for its PlayTV tuner for the PlayStation 3. The add-on, once set for the end of June, is now set to launch on September 10th. The shipping version will support recording TV shows even during game play. The device already supports dual DVB-T tuners and will capture one over-the-air digital channel while playing another live.

Playstation Network gets Movie & TV Download Service

Sony announced that Playstation Network users will now have the ability to rent and buy movies and TV shows. The service will include content from Fox, MGM, Lions Gate, Warner, Disney, Paramount, Turner and Funimation. TV pricing starts at $1.99, while movies will cost ranging from $9.99 to $14.99, with rentals costing between $2.99 and $5.99. The videos can even be downloaded to your PS3 and watched on multiple PSPs. Videos are available in both SD and HD.

PSP Firmware 4.05 Coming Soon

Sony will be releasing firmware update version 4.05 for its PSP handheld console. One confirmed feature will be new visualizers for music player, catering to the ever growing crowd who use their PSP as a portable media player. More to come as new developments arise.

Bluetooth headset for Sony PS3

Sony unveiled its PlayStation 3 Bluetooth headset. The headset works with any game that supports voice chat on the console and includes extra features including a mute button to prevent unintentional noise outside of normal use and a USB charging cradle to power the headset either from the PS3 or a computer.
