Eton unveils its Porsche-designed P’9120 stereo system.  It comes with an iPod dock and integrated AM/FM & DAB RDS radio.  The iPod dock is equipped with an OLED display and a remote control with a built-in torch. The P’9120 system is made from aluminum and has a double wall for superior sound enhancement.  It is priced at $925.

LG has started shipping new home theater systems that are tailored equally to traditional home theater and audio setups as well as portable digital audio. The flagship LHT888 is tuned by Mark Levinson and puts out 5.1-channel surround through a 700-watt speaker system with wireless rear channels. Its host receiver can both play DVDs as well as play media from USB devices including iPod-specific navigation as well as more generic mass storage. Video can be upscaled as high as 1080p through the HDMI connection, which also supports CEC multi-device control when attached to Blu-ray players, TVs, and other devices that support the standard.

Sony announced one of its concept speaker designs to be translated into a production device called the Sountina. It promises a radical approach to sound by outputting the same sound at 360 degrees from the speaker itself: an upward-facing driver vibrates a glass tube that in turn pushes sound outwards in all directions rather than in a cone, as with traditional speakers. The change both leads to a new look as well as reducing the horizontal footprint of the Sountina.
