Zune 2.5 software update with Zune Card and TV Shows

Microsoft released new features with the Zune version 2.5 software update. The new feature set is led by the Zune Card, TV downloads and a number of smaller, but highly requested items.

A subscription with the Zune Card allows you to pick up copies of favorite songs from your friends who also have a Zune. If you don’t subscribe you can still see others Zune Card information but you’ll have to pay to listen to their favorite tracks.

Microsoft & Allen Iverson, Joy Division Special Edition Zune Players

Microsoft is readying a Allen Iverson edition, second-generation Zune players. A team up with Reebok to produce a custom Zune to match its partner’s Allen Iverson Answer XI sneakers. The Zune will include a large engraving of the Denver Nuggets basketball player, and also pack related content on the jukebox itself such as TV spots, interviews, and Iverson-chosen music. Like most limited Zune, the Reebok will ship in 60 pairs when it arrives in June for $300.

Games Coming to Zune

Microsoft announced that games will be added to the Zune in the near future. Development for the Zune must be accomplished using XNA Studio, which was originally conceived for the Xbox 360. Microsoft indicates that first-generation Zunes will not be supported.

Microsoft has released an official diagnostic tool for the Zune. The tool is primarily designed for those having issues with their Zune USB and wireless sync connection problems and compiles the data to help the techical support to resolve the problem faster.
