The PS3 will be getting another firmware update, enhancing your connected experience with the PS3. Among some positive changes that we can expect include a new Text Chat feature that allows you to keep in touch with your PlayStation Network friends online, letting you chat with up to 15 different contacts simultaneously with the help of a Wireless Keypad.

Nintendo Wii Enabled with SDHC Support through System Menu 4.0 Upgrade

Nintendo released a new major System Menu 4.0 updates to its Nintendo Wii to enable SDHC cards support up to 32GB.

The software update will bring a new SD card menu GUI that allows users to transfer both files and channels between system internal and external memories. Besides, it also allows the game download directly into SD card without occupying the system memory.

Microsoft announces Official Red Xbox 360 RE5 Bundle

Microsoft unveiled a special, Resident Evil 5 limited edition of the Xbox 360. The new model paints the 120GB Xbox 360Elite in red with a matching controller and bundles both a copy of the edition’s namesake survival horror game as well as a code for a free copy of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. A wired headset also translates from the normal black model.

Sony PSPs in Carnival Colors for Japan

Sony is offering portable gamers in Japan the option of four new and very bright colors for their gaming console PSP. The bright shades are called Carnival colors and comes in blue, red, green and yellow.

Nintendo offers Video Service for Wii

Nintendo announced it would start offering videos for the Wii, marking the first time the device will have readily available programming. The deal will see ad firm Dentsu help produce new videos that will be available solely online. Adding videos will turn the Wii into a fun area for communication between family members.

Content pricing has yet to be chosen but may include a mixture of free and pay-only titles in contrast to a show like Sony’s Qore. The Wii service will launch next year in Nintendo’s home country of Japan, though Nintendo is said contemplating a launch in other countries.
