Leica Unveils Three New Cameras: V-Lux 40, X2 and M-Monochrom
Leica has unveiled three new cameras: The M-Monochrom, the X2 and the V-Lux 40.
The M-Monochrom is a black-and-white, full-frame rangefinder that according to Leica “enables photographers to capture images in outstanding black-and-white quality, setting entirely new standards.” It features an 18MP image sensor that does not ‘see’ colors which allows it to deliver better black-and-white images than a a color-sensitive sensor. It ships with a full version of the mono processing software Silver Efex 2. The Leica M Monochrom will be available from Leica dealers in late July 2012.
