Toshiba CELL REGZA 55X1- Worlds First1 LCD TV Integrating the Cell Broadband Engine




Toshiba has unveiled the future of home entertainment, the CELL REGZA 55X1. This new World’s First1 LCD TV Integrating the Cell Broadband Engine , the flagship of Toshiba’s REGZA line-up, offers viewers state-of-the-art picture quality, including a dynamic contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1, and supports this with ultra-high-speed processing and recording, enhanced navigation and seamless network interactivity. Another distinguishing feature of CELL REGZA is its storage capacity: a 3-terabyte (TB)7 hard disk drive. Two terabytes of capacity are dedicated to the CELL REGZA’s “time-shift machine,”8 which can simultaneously record up to approximately 26 hours of programming for up to eight channels of digital terrestrial broadcasts. The time-shift machine allows viewers to catch up on missed programs simply by pressing the “time-shift machine” button on the remote control.

Toshiba Announces 640GB notebook drive




Toshiba announces on Tuesday added a 640GB drive to its notebook-sized GSX hard drives. With two platters to make up its entire storage, the 5,400RPM disk is thin enough at 9.5mm tall to fit in thin-and-light notebooks and also gets incidental boosts from the increased density. Toshiba claims that it’s faster, with “significant” speed-ups through the reduced amount of time finding data, and that it consumes 28 percent less power compared to earlier models.

Toshiba Introduces Wi-Fi digital photo frames




Toshiba has announced it parthship with FrameChannel, a web-based digital photo frame integration service, to bring weather, news and sports info, as well as uploaded photos to its new line of Digital Media Frames. Two digital photo frames will comes with an 8-inch frame and 10-inch. Videos and music uploaded to the FrameChannel servers will also get transferred to the frames.

Toshiba Unveils Biblio handset with e-book support



Toshiba has unveiled a KDDI handset known as the biblio that, in addition to voice support, will double as an e-book reader as well. Instead of an electronic paper display like ones found in established e-book readers, such as Amazon’s Kindle, the biblio makes do with a traditional 3.5-inch LCD touchscreen with an extra-long 480×960 resolution. The handset will have 7GB of internal memory for storing content that can be expanded thanks to microSDHC memory cards up to 8GB.
