Sony announces Xperia Z1 with 20.7-megapixel camera

Sony has announced its next flagship Android smartphone the Xperia Z1. The phone is waterproof and equipped with a 5-inch display, 3,000mAh battery, and the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, the 2.2GHz quad-core 800. Much of the emphasis in the new model however is on its camera, which uses a 20.7-megapixel Exmor RS sensor measuring 1/2.3 inches, making it larger than the sensors on rival phones like the iPhone 5 or even the Lumia 1020. The camera also uses an f/2.0 maximum aperture, and the G Lens and BIONZ processing technology from Sony’s dedicated camera line.

Samsung has announced its Galaxy Gear smart watch. The Galaxy Gear smart watch serves as a wearable “companion device” to use with tablets and smartphones. Without taking their phone out of a pocket, users can preview incoming texts, e-mails, calls or other notifications, or take advantage of voice input to place calls and record memos.

Samsung has unveiled the 2014 edition Galaxy Note 10.1. The Galaxy Note 10.1 device boasts a WQXGA LCD display running at 2560×1600 resolution in a 10-inch form factor up from 1,280 x 800 (150 ppi), with a 1.9 GHZ eight-core processor in the 3G/WiFi only version or a 2.3GHz quad-core in the LTE model, with 3GB RAM.
